Out of Bounds

Author(s): Beverley Naidoo

Young Adult Fiction

A unique collection of short stories about young people, both black and white, experiencing personal conflict within the political context of South Africa during the last 50 years. They cover the period from 1950 to 2000 and reflect the lives of a range of young people, black and white, living in what was for many years seen as the world's most openly racist society.

The book covers the rise of the ANC from its very beginnings, through Mandela to the first free elections.
