Jean Ure was still at school when she had her first novel published. After finishing school she took on a variety of jobs to support herself while she continued to write: cook, floor-scrubber, translator, temp, trainee nurse, usherette and shop assistant. Then after spending two years in Paris, she enrolled at the Webber-Douglas Academy of Drama where she trained as an actress. With over 100 books under her belt, Jean Ure is widely recognised as one of the most successful and popular authors in this country.
