D.H. Lawrence was a popular English novelist and playwright in the early twentieth century. Lawrence's work was explicit for its time and was therefore heavily censored. However, as time has gone by, Lawrence's books have gained in popularity and he is now seen as one of the great writers of his time. Sea and Sardinia is a travel book written by Lawrence after World War I when he was living in Sicily. The book details Lawrence's journey to Sardinia in 1921.
