Lally Weymouth is a writer, journalist and senior editor at Newsweek. She was the author of a seminal profile of Vreeland in Rolling Stone magazine in 1977. Judith Thurman is a contributing writer at the New Yorker, often on women and fashion. Judith Clark is former curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, where she was a colleague of Vreeland's.
