Description

DoP - Oct 2007, Auckland
72pp
In this exciting new book of short stories, Ted Dawe has created quite distinct narrators for each story, each one telling the story in their own characteristic voice. In showing how a story is influenced by âÂÂvoiceâÂÂ, students will understand something about the writing process. In the Preface, Ted Dawe talks about his early life and how it influenced the way he tells stories, and where his ideas come from. In the authorâÂÂs comment after each story, Ted explains how the story came about and offers suggestions on how students could write their own stories. A TeacherâÂÂs Guide CD, is available for purchase. It contains curriculum-related activities and suggested answers, a section on drafting a short story as well as two extra short stories for classroom use. Students can also listen to Ted Dawe reading his comments on each story.
