Liesel Schwarz was born on 29 October 1974 in Johannesburg, South Africa and currently enjoys German and South African nationality, although lives and works in the UK. She is currently busy with her PhD in Creative Writing and does a little editing on the side, and for her day job works as a legal claims solicitor. A life-long fan of 19th Century Gothic literature, she is a hopeless romantic and loves Victorians, steampunk, fairies, fantasy monsters, the Fin de siecle, and the correct way to drink absinthe.
