Lillian B Rubin is the author of eleven books including Tangled Lives (0807067946), Worlds of Pain (0465092489), Intimate Strangers (0060911344) and Just Friends (0060913495). She is a sociologist and psychotherapist who has been a senior research associate at the Institute for the Study of Social Change at the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in San Francisco.
