The 80/20 Principle and 92 Other Powerful Laws of Nature: The Science of Success

Author(s): Richard Koch

Popular Science

In this follow-up to his best-selling The 80/20 Principle, the power law that helped hundreds of thousands achieve more by doing less, Richard Koch puts science to work, applying ninety-two other natural laws to promote the "science of success" within the ever-changing world of business. What does Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection prove about developing a niche product line? How can Isaac Newton's laws of motion and gravity help in a crowded marketplace? This is a must-have book for business leaders looking for clear, evidence-based reasoning that explains why some companies seem to find success everywhere they turn, while others don't make progress.

Product Information

Richard Koch started his first venture when he was 13. After making the mistake of working for big companies in his twenties, Koch was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group and partner of Bain & Company. He co-founded LEK Consulting, the most successful, fastest growing and most profitable 'strategy boutique' of the 1980s. In the 1990s he rescued Filofax and Plymouth Gin from near-death, built up Zola Hotels, and co-founded the Belgo restaurant chain and Capstone Publishing. In 2001 he invested heavily in Betfair, a tiny online betting firm shunned by venture capitalists and played a leading part in making it the world's leading betting exchange, worth more than GBP1.5 billion. A self-confessed 'lazy entrepreneur', he lives the 80/20 way in London, Cape Town and the sunniest part of southern Spain.
