John Vernon Lord is a freelance illustrator whose award-winning work has been published worldwide. He is also a distinguished author and teacher, and Emeritus Professor of Illustration at the University of Brighton. THE GIANT JAM SANDWICH was inspired by his father's pest control technique at picnics. Janet Burroway is a novelist, playwright, poet and lecturer. Born in America, she has taught at universities in both the UK and the USA. Now Emeritus Professor of English at Florida State University, Janet and her husband divide their time between in Tallahassee and London.
