Product Information

MikiNobu Komatsu was born in Japan and educated in Tokyo and New York. In 1977, after completing his Japanese education, Komatsu moved to Sydney Australia, which he now calls home. Komatsu’s photographic production has also taken him to New Zealand several times over the past 25 years. Komatsu first shot landscapes in colour in Australia and New Zealand; he says the rich quality of light in these countries inspired him to pursue photography. The light he speaks of is evidently his passion; he strives to capture the mood created by the light. Komatsu is evoking an emotional experience by alluding to an encounter that is beyond the scene – something more akin to the essence of the place in his image.
