I Am a Penguin

Author(s): Barbara Todd

NZ Kids' Non-Fiction

This is a picture book presenting the life of penguins in a fun way for the 4-6 age group, using charming cartoons, rhyming verse and full-colour photography.

This first title in New Holland's I Am A... series introduces penguins - not only those found in New Zealand but also those found overseas, including Australia and South Africa, making this a title with international potential. The basic aspects of habitat, hunting, social behaviour, breeding and relations with humans are covered at an easy-to-grasp level, presented in simple and catchy rhyming verses, and illustrated both with cute cartoon characters and documentary photographs.
