New Zealand Birds: An Identification Guide

Author(s): Stuart Chambers

NZ Flora & Fauna

This book aims to help those interested in New Zealand birds learn about the birds they see around them. Many people can?t get started on bird-watching because they don't know where to commence in terms of identification. It can be difficult to learn about birds commonly seen in the home garden or nearby parks if identification is a problem. The learner is assisted with information about colours (pages are colour-edged, the most conspicuous colours of the bird shown on the edges of the page); a description of habitat; information about the range of the bird; its size (each section starts with the smallest bird in that category); information on abundance and status; and distinct features and characteristics. Every entry is accompanied by a minimum of one colour photograph of the bird.
