Living the Practice - Volume 1: the Way of Love

Author(s): Rohini Ralby

Religion

In 2012, with Bancroft Press, Rohini Ralby published Walking Home with Baba: The Heart of Spiritual Practice, a guide to the inner practice she learned one-on-one from her Guru, Swami Muktananda Paramahamsa. In the four decades since Muktananda, affectionately known as Baba, left his body, she has continued to devotedly live that practice. She also teaches it to students all over the world. Over the past ten years, Ms. Ralby has written hundreds of blog posts in the form of short essays, recollections, and instructions about the lived experience of spiritual practice-her own, and that of anyone who pursues the path she has so steadily followed. Ms. Ralby has also written poems and created paintings rooted in her inner practice. Living the Practice: The Way of Love is the first of two books that collect those writings and creations, organized thematically so readers can locate, read, revisit, and contemplate Ms. Ralby's teachings and reflections. From an early age, Rohini Ralby was committed to finding the best teachers in every field she pursued. Originally from the Boston area, she completed her undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis and obtained a graduate degree at Mills College. Afterward, she ran her own school of Tai Chi Chuan in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1974, she met Swami Muktananda, and remained a close disciple until his mahasamadhi in 1982. During that time, she studied spiritual practice with him one-on-one. Since 1990, she has shared that teaching, while also raising her sons, Ian and Aaron. Ms. Ralby lives with her husband in Maryland. Book jacket.
