JANE AUSTEN (1775-1817) was an English novelist whose first book was published in 1811. Her works - Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey, Emma and Persuasion - are now widely regarded as classics of English literature. They are studied in schools worldwide and have been adapted into countless films and TV programmes. BECCA STADTLANDER is a rising star in the world of children's illustration. After attending the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she earned a BFA in Illustration, she has worked as a freelance illustrator for clients including The New York Times, Chronicle Books, Penguin Books, Harper Collins, Kate Spade and Jamie Oliver Magazine. Becca is currently working on her first picture book. She lives in Rhode Island, USA.
