Description

This is a blank journal with funny aphorisms hand-written on every fourth page. 'Impossible, you say? Nothing is impossible when you work for the circus.' By printing these simple words on a T-shirt, McSweeney's has inspired literally hundreds of writers, readers, and others. Now these words are going where they can do the most possible good: on the cover of a self-actualization diary. Beyond this cover, "McSweeney's Circus Journal" is filled with blank pages of heavy stock paper - fertile ground for fertile thoughts - and sprinkled with a wealth of hand-scripted, life-affirming wisdom in quotes on every fourth page. Where some say 'Nu-uh,' McSweeney's says 'Mm-hmm!'

Author description

McSweeney's began in 1998 as a literary journal edited by Dave Eggers that only published work rejected by other magazines. But after the first issue, the journal began to publish pieces written with McSweeney's in mind. Since then, McSweeney's has attracted work from some of the finest writers in the country. Based in San Francisco, McSweeney's is a small publishing house committed to finding new voices and promoting the work of gifted but underappreciated writers.
