Color Management

Description

Color Management shows how to implement colour as a practical form of problem solving. It is a consolidated resource, arming designers with an understanding of how to communicate with and manage colour in all its aspects and applications; subtractive and additive; pigment, CMYK and RGB; 2-D and 3-D; still and motion. Sensitivity of pigments to light and air and the stability of inks is also detailed, as is the human factor, through issues of colour legibility and the physical and psychological effects of colour. In its depth and breadth, it is a unique body of information.

Author description

John T. Drew is Associate Professor at California State University in the graphic design and visual communication areas. His work has been featured in a number of publications, and he has also written for a number of publications, including Process and Methodology. Sarah Meyer is an Assistant Professor at California State University, and a practicing graphic designer with her own business. She is co-editor for Design Education in Progress: Process and Methodology.
