Cultural Studies

Inspired by the idea that one of the greatest gifts one generation can give to another is the wisdom it has gained from experience, multi-award-winning photographer and filmmaker Andrew Zuckerman has recorded the thoughts and ideas of fifty of the world's most prominent over-65 year olds. To create profound, honest, and truly revealing portraits of these luminaries, Zuckerman has captured their voices, their physical presence and the written word. The resulting book and movie provides an extraordinary legacy for the generations that follow and is a testament to the talent of one of photography's brightest new stars. The extraordinary people included are: Chinua Achebe, Richard Adams, Madeleine Albright, Buzz Aldrin, David Amram, Alan Arkin, Burt Bacharach, Dave Brubeck, Dick Bruna, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Chuck Close, Billy Connelly, Terence Conran, Bryce Courtenay, Judi Dench, Clint Eastwood, Garret FitzGerald, Malcolm Fraser, Frank Gehry, Jane Goodall, Nadine Gordimer, Vaclav Havel, Denis Healey, John Hume, Ted Kennedy, Billie Jean King, Henry Kissinger, Kris Kristofferson, Jimmy Little, Esther Mahlangu, Nelson Mandela, Kurt Masur, Graham Nash, Willie Nelson, Nick Nolte, Michael Parkinson, Jacques P pin, Rosamunde Pilcher, Mary Quant, Bernice Johnson Reagon, Robert Redford, Vanessa Redgrave, Richard Rogers, Ravi Shankar, Wole Soyinka, Helen Suzman, Desmond Tutu, Massimo and Lella Vignelli, Bill Withers, Andrew Wyeth.
