Crime/Thrillers

Harry Hole returns in the eleventh installment of the author's bestselling, electrifying crime fiction series--published in 48 languages, more than 30 million copies sold worldwide.

In Police--the last novel featuring Jo Nesb 's hard-bitten, maverick Oslo detective--a killer wreaking revenge on the police had Harry Hole fighting for the safety of the people closest to him. Now, in The Thirst, the story continues as Harry is inextricably drawn back into the Oslo police force. A serial murderer has begun targeting Tinder daters--a murderer whose MO reignites Harry's hunt for a nemesis of his past.

Product Information

"An extremely gruesome journey to the darker recesses of human nature, this grisly treat will delight Nesbo's fans." Mirror "Fast-moving...stunning." Sunday Times "It's a big-boned, Technicolor epic in the current Nesbo style, starting adagio and ending accelerando, but with the kind of close psychological character readings that distinguished his early work." Guardian "Gripping from the get-go, deliciously dark and expertly plotted, this is Nesbo at his brilliant best." Heat "Expertly plotted with vividly drawn characters, frenetic police chases and philosophising villains[...] Expect to be thoroughly entertained." Crime Fiction Lover

Jo Nesbo played football for Norway's premier league team Molde, but his dream of playing professionally for Spurs was dashed when he tore ligaments in his knee at the age of eighteen. After three years military service he attended business school and formed the band Di derre ('Them There'). Their second album topped the charts in Norway, but he continued working as a financial analyst, crunching numbers during the day and gigging at night. When commissioned by a publisher to write a memoir about life on the road with his band, he instead came up with the plot for his first Harry Hole crime novel, The Bat. He is regarded as one of the world's leading crime writers, with The Leopard, Phantom, Police and The Son all topping the UK bestseller charts, and his novels are published in 48 languages.
