Art Spiegelman and Francoise Mouly founded, edited, and published RAW magazine between 1980-1991. RAW was a deluxe international showcase of comics for adults, and was the original venue for MAUS, the Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir in comics by Art Spiegelman. Art Spiegelman is also the author of the bestselling Open Me...I'm A Dog! (Joanna Cotler Books). Francoise Mouly has been the art director for The New Yorker magazine since 1993. They now live in Manhattan with their two children, Nadja, 14, and Dashell, 9.
