Dogs Don't Do Dishes

Author(s): Rebecca Lisle

Children's Books

Metal-Mutt is the amazing result of young Tom's inventive genius. He is a robot dog that can clean, iron, cook and wash up! But the bosses at the Institute of Inventions do not like dogs. 'Dogs don't do dishes,' they say, and decree he must be destroyed. Tom is too fond of Metal-Mutt to destroy him, so he advertises his cooking, cleaning dog in the local newsagent's window. The Crumms (the laziest family ever) take him home, but they ignore him, while expecting endless chores to be done. Metal-Mutt becomes extremely miserable until one day he spots Cherise Orchard falling into the river, and leaps to her rescue. Could he be free at last?
A witty, unique tale illustrated by Tim Archbold.
