De Long is professor emeritus of architecture in the Graduate Program in Historic Preservation at the University of Pennsylvania. He is co-author of Rizzoli's Louis I. Kahn: In the Realm of Architecture and author of Auldbrass: Frank Lloyd Wright's Southern Plantation.
